Your Body Is Designed To Be Healthy

Welcome to a different way of thinking about health.

At Family Chiropractic, we embrace vitalistic principles — the understanding that your body possesses an innate intelligence and remarkable ability to heal itself when functioning optimally.

You are not broken. You don't need "fixing." What your body needs is better communication between your brain and every part of you, so it can do what it was brilliantly designed to do: heal, adapt, and thrive.

This isn't about managing disease or suppressing symptoms. This is about supporting your body's natural wisdom and creating the conditions for optimal health to flourish.

The Foundation of ALL Health: Your Nervous System

Everything begins with your nervous system — the master control center for your entire body.

Every second of every day, your nervous system coordinates millions of functions without your conscious thought.

Your nervous system consists of:

  • Your brain (the control center)
  • Your spinal cord (the information superhighway)
  • Billions of nerves (communication pathways to every cell, tissue, and organ)

When this system receives clear, accurate signals, your body can heal, regulate, and maintain optimal health naturally. When signals get distorted, health breaks down over time.

Understanding Subluxations

Subluxation happen with accumulated stress that can lead to  spinal joints loaded wrong, moving wrong, or not moving at all.

Think of your nervous system like a super highway connecting your brain to every part of your body:

  • When the road is smooth, traffic flows freely — your brain gets clear, accurate reports from your body, and sends clear, accurate instructions back. Everything runs the way it's supposed to.
  • But when the road develops potholes and rough patches — that's a subluxation — the cars still get through, but they're jostled, delayed, sending shaky signals. Your brain starts receiving bad information.
  • Here's the part that matters most: your brain doesn't ignore bad information — it adapts to it. It reroutes, compensates, and adjusts how it runs your body based on what it's receiving. Over time, that adaptation is what shows up as symptoms — pain, tension, dysfunction, and more.

Subluxations don't happen overnight. They build up from three types of stress we all encounter daily:

  • Traumas (physical stress — old injuries, poor posture, repetitive strain, how you've sat, stood, and moved your whole life)
  • Toxins (chemical stress — what you eat, drink, and breathe)
  • Thoughts (mental/emotional stress — the load your mind carries)

 What Happens When Subluxations Persist?

When distorted signals continue over time without correction, your body begins to break down.

This is called Nervous System Dysregulation — the ongoing miscommunication between your brain and body.

Here's the critical part: pain is typically the LAST symptom to appear.

You can have subluxations affecting your health and function for months or even years before you feel discomfort.

Just like a cavity develops long before it hurts, subluxations create dysfunction long before they create pain. Pain is simply one of several ways your brain can respond once it's run out of other ways to compensate.

This is why we focus on correcting subluxations and optimizing nervous system function — not just chasing symptoms or managing pain.

Why Some People Heal Faster Than Others

Ever wonder why two patients with similar spinal problems can have completely different healing experiences?

Patient A: Heals quickly, adjustments hold well, pain resolves completely

Patient B: Slow progress, adjustments don't hold, chronic issues persist

The difference often isn't the spinal problem—it's metabolic health.

And here's what most people don't know: Metabolic dysfunction directly affects your spine, creates degeneration, arthritis, subluxations, and dramatically slows your healing.

Our Vitalistic Approach

At Family Chiropractic, we practice vitalistic healthcare, which means:

We don't heal you — your body does that brilliantly on its own, when it has the right conditions and clear communication to work with.

Our adjustments are designed to send new, accurate signals into your brain — giving your nervous system better information so it can do what it already knows how to do.

The Pillars of Vitalistic Health

While chiropractic care is the cornerstone — the foundation upon which everything else is built — true vitalistic health requires attention to these other essential pillars. Click below to learn more about each pillar and grab valuable tools to support your healing.

EAT WELL

Your body is literally built from what you eat. Every cell, every tissue, every organ requires proper nutrition to function.

MOVE WELL

Your body is designed for movement. When you don't move, you literally start to deteriorate.

THINK WELL

Your thoughts directly affect your nervous system and physical health.

Additional Services We Offer

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Our pediatric occupational therapy works hand-in-hand with chiropractic care to help your child's brain and body communicate the way they were designed to — specializing in primitive reflex integration to support focus, coordination, and sensory processing.

FUNCTIONAL BLOODWORK

An in-depth bloodwork assessment that looks beyond "normal" ranges to understand what's really happening at the cellular and metabolic level — so we can catch imbalances early and support your body before they turn into bigger problems.
